Ok, here it is… the ULTIMATE AFFILIATE SUMMIT BLOG POST GIVEAWAY! I promised I would grab a ton of goodies for my fellow bloggers from Affiliate Summit East. T-Shirts, TreeLoot Monkey Plushes, Google YoYo’s, Classy Pens, Shareasale Mousepads, Beachballs, Company Note Pads and more…And here it is!

This is an aerial view, but there is so much stuff buried under more stuff that I need to bring a separate carry-on bag to fly all this back to New Jersey! All for my precious bloggers! Most of these companies wanted me to take even more stuff! Less for them to bring back and a nice free promotion for them too!
I will start some promotions this week to give these items away. Simple promotions like commenting and linkbacks. But first, I would love nothing more than to get some help on promoting this blog and promotion. Please link / ping back to this blog post from your blog with a brief description and I will make sure you get a goody from this event. Once again, like the free t-shirt promotion (being shipped this week), I will cover all shipping costs again! ☺

Affiliate Summit Day 3 had arrived and after lunch it was time for the “Elevator Networking Sessions”, where I was speaking. In the room there was a bunch of tables and each with their own topic and speaker. The purpose of this session was for people to visit the topic they were interested in, then ask any questions they had or wanted to learn about. I had “Word of Mouth Marketing”… but answered any questions my table had.
What started out as a slow session, actually ended up quite nicely. I was able to give out a lot of great advice to people on how to market and improve their sites/services. It’s amazing how many times I was asked if I offer consulting… hmm… good idea… but I’m giving it all away free on my blog!

Today was a really great day. I feel this Affiliate Summit has offered a lot more motivation and promise than past events. Not to boast, but it’s rare that I learn a decent amount of new information at any events. This time around I was very fortunate with the sessions I decided to attend. I will go into deep detail on some of these speakers later in the week.
Here are a few more pictures from today.

“What Super Affiliates Want” with Scott Jangro, Jeremy Palmer and Rosalind Garner

Chitika CEO, Venkat Kolluri gave an awesome presentation, but deserved a much larger attendance… which was lacking, due to following the lunch session.

Amit Mehta…. Just may be one of the most inspiring and motivational speakers/sessions I have attended. If I came to this event and only saw and met with Amit, it would have totally been worth it.

Melissa Salas of Buy.com, another good friend of mine that I plan on working with a lot more after this event!

One of my biggest fans, Tobias of Revenue Magazine!
(Their booth has been giving out the latest issue, which features my classified ad ☺ )
The last session of the day was a Q&A session, and unfortunately it did not get the exposure it deserved. The room was very large, but only had around 50 people inside, while hundreds still scurried around in the exhibits area. The purpose of the room was for attendees to go up on stage and introduce themselves and ask any questions or tell the crowd what they were looking to get out of Affiliate Summit, whether it be a new affiliate manager or advice on how to reach a targeted market. Missy Ward called me up to stage and I did a quick plug for ZacJohnson.com and let everyone know I was there as an example of what networking at events like this can produce, and that I’m also providing my real life examples and story on my free blog.

The last event of the day was the Moniker Domain Auction. This was my first live domain name auction and it was very neat. While most attendees left mid-way through the event, my father and I stayed till the end. With over $262k in sales and one domain going for $40,000… it was quite exciting!
I also just created a new blog category for all of the Affiliate Summit posts, so please make sure to check these out.
Lastly, tomorrow is the last day and I will be speaking on “Word of Mouth Marketing” at 11:30am. I will also make a final run of the exhibits and see what cool toys and promos I can pick up to give away through the blog.
Please keep the comments coming and spreading these posts among your Affiliate Summit attendees and friends. Please also let me know if you are enjoying the blogcasting straight from Affiliate Summit East 2007! Thank you.

I just returned from the Affiliate Summit Moniker.com Domain Auction. Some people walked away with some really sweet deals. The highest domain sold for $40,000, which was BigBoys.com. The only domain on the listed I was interested in was Character.com… then before the event they said it was the only one removed from the list! The auction ended up pulling $262,450 in sales!

I have been to a lot of conferences and have heard many keynote speakers. Unfortunately, most of them are just so-so… few offer a truly funny, exciting and motivational speech. Fortunately for everyone attending Affiliate Summit East, they were treated to keynote speaker Ze Frank, whose keynote speech had all three elements. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ze last night and he seemed like a good guy, though I wasn’t sure what he was going to speak about today.
One of the most important characteristics of a speaker is they must keep the audience entertained, awake (!), and focused on their underlying message, throwing in some comedy is also a huge plus.
To start things off, Ze got everyone excited and in the mood while he showed slides on plane safety and really looked in detail at how humorous safety guides and plane pillow collectors can be. All the while relating this humor to his underlying message.
Ze’s claim to fame was a funny dancing video he made as an invite for one of his parties when he was younger. What was meant to be seen by only his friends, quickly spread throughout the world and brought in over a million visitors within a couple days, truly one of the first viral videos.
The main message from Ze Frank’s keynote what that we are now in a 2.0 world and everyone is influencing everything. Whether it be funny videos being spread throughout the world, or people twittering their lives…
Overall Ze started out the first full day of the conference with a tremendously funny and motivational keynote address. It gets no better than that.
