NeverBlueAds PPC Marketing & Earnings

Last month was the first time I hit $10,000 in earnings with NeverBlueAds. I was pretty excited and looking to do the same, if not more the following month. I was able to push past the $10,000 mark because I added some new ppc campaigns to my arsenal. Once you start making money in PPC, you can pretty much start making money in any niche, it just takes a decent amount of time, work and dedication. Last month my NeverBlueAds earnings ended up at $8,533. Unfortunately it was the first drop I had as an affiliate with NeverBlueAds, but it was slightly expected.

In August, when I was able to push $10,000 in commissions through the network, I was doing quite we will one of the campaigns. During that time there were a few days that this campaign was down for tracking issues. Through September the same offer was down around a week. Instead of dealing with the offer not tracking correctly, NeverBlueAds had just pulled the offer, so there wouldn’t be any lost commissions or angry affiliates. Since the offer wasn’t available for a decent percentage of the month, so was a decent percentage of my revenue for the month. I was not angry with NeverBlueAds, as all possible ads were tracked and any downtime was credited for. It was just unfortunate that the tracking campaign on the advertisers end was a bit tricky.

More than anything else, this is just a reminder that you never know what the next month may bring. If you are working in the PPC area, make sure you have your hands in enough campaigns, if one of them should go down or if the offer dies out. Everything is up and running normally again with NeverBlueAds and I’m looking to push a few more of their campaigns through PPC as the month goes on. Increasing earnings to over $10,000 a month is not an issue with NeverBlueAds, it’s simply a matter of effort and time put into your campaigns. I would love to focus on my PPC campaigns more, but I have so many projects and ideas in the works. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could "copy" and "paste" a few of ourselves so we could get more work done!?

eComXpo - The Virtual Trade Show

eComXpo starts this Tuesday (9 thru 11th) and it’s a perfect opportunity for you to make some new contacts and talk directly with some of the networks you may already be making money with. Unlike other events, eComXpo is completely Online, Virtual and best of all Free! With a trade show like this, you really have no excuse not to attend. Each year the show comes around, but I really never get into it. I love events like Affiliate Summit and AdTech (coming up next month in NY), but I find at eComXpo I go up to a few booths (chat windows) of companies I already know… I say "Hi".. then leave the event. I’m sure it would be a lot more exciting for any new attendees to the event as it’s something completely different than a real-life trade show. There are speakers and other information provides at/by the event as well, be sure to check it out and let me know what you think.

To attend the event, you simply need to register and your account/pass will be setup. You can also watch a short video on a tour of the event, which better explains everything. Let me know if you’ve attended the event, what you like or don’t like. We may even run into each other at some of the virtual booths!

Hilton Casino Host Party

Earlier this week I was invited to attend a "Casino Host Party" at the Atlantic City Hilton. I was invited by my new awesome host Indira. A couple weeks ago I posted on "Who is Reading Your Blog?", which was based on when Indira sent me a written letter after coming across my blog and hearing about how unhappy I was with Resorts Casino, and then how they fired my previous host. I first met with Indira last night and she was super nice and let me know if there was anything I needed, that I should get in touch with her.

So we (Reena, her sister Anji, my friend Alex and myself) arrived at the Hilton last night, not expecting what type of party it would be, but it was actually pretty sweet. It was a classy party that was thrown by all the casino hosts, and their players were invited to attend. They had a live band, lots of drinks and a three course meal… all free of course! After dinner we ran down stairs and played craps for about 30 mins. Some lady at the end of the table got mad when it was my turn to throw because the dice bounced off the table a couple times when I threw the previous time. It was the come out roll and I had
$25 on the "Whirl" (I win a decent amount if 2, 3, 11 or 12 comes up). So she was complaining, then I threw a "3"… I won she lost… it was kind of funny. Then I threw again and pressed up my "Whirl" bet since it won. I ended up throwing four whirls in a row and kept pressing my bet. In the matter of four throws I went from bring down $400 to up $300! After my roll we cashed out and left.

The Hilton and Resorts Casinos are both owned by the same company and share the same players card. So far these two casinos have been awesome on game play and rewards. They send me something new to pickup each week! Yesterday was another great trip to AC and that makes for SIX profitable trips in a row. I’m heading down to Resorts Casino today to pick up my Free Coach Watch valued at $300. Let’s see if I can make it SEVEN profitable trips in a row! :)

OCTOBER 7 - UPDATE:

Reena and I went down the next day to pick up a free Coach watch from the Resorts Casino. We arrived about an hour or so before they were giving away the watches. We decided to play some roulette. We saw a table that had 32 RED (my favorite number that I always bet heavy on) keep coming up, so we picked that table. I cashed in for $1700 and went through it super fast. We had a horrible run of SIX numbers hitting that we had nothing on.

After we left roulette, we wanted to play craps. The tables were all so busy that we had to wait nearly a half an hour just to play on one. Finally some people left and I got to sneak up to a table. I cashed in for $2100 and started to play. The games were up and down… some were hitting points, but most were "sevening out". It was eventually my turn to throw the dice. It was the best throw I EVER PLAYED… and the BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! I ended up throwing for an HOUR & 15 MINS! I hit four points and a TON of numbers. It was ridiculous, I’m sure it will never happen again. Once I finally sevened out, we went upstairs, got the Coach watch and headed home. After being down $1700, then my super unrealistic craps throw, we ended up $1200 + a Free Coach Watch!

Will I See You at BlogWorld in Vegas?

BlogWorld is about a month away now and it wasn’t til I talked with John Chow on the ShoeMoney Show that I actually decided that I would attend the event. I was skeptical because it was a new event and I already have another three trips planned to Las Vegas over the next four months… so what’s another! The major reason I want to attend BlogWorld, is to meet up with all the other bloggers out there that I have been reading on any possibly to meet up with some of my blog readers as well.

The event is being held on November 8th & 9th at the Las Vegas Convention Center… so I’m still undecided on which Casino Hotel to stay at yet. I want something close, but I also would like to comp’d! :) If you are planning to attend BlogWorld, make sure you stay an extra day to hit up PostieCon which is the day after the event, best of all it’s FREE! Postiecon is hosted and sponsored by PayPerPost.

I can never stress enough how important it is to attend events. I would not be where I am today if I didn’t take the initiative to attend and meet with the mentors at these events. The connections you will make are priceless. There is still another month left before the event, so you can still reserve your tickets for the event. If you can’t make BlogWorld, I suggest you try and make Affiliate Summit West 2008 in Las Vegas during February ‘08. If money is an issue, no need to fear! I’m giving away three free passes to event, just make sure you enter! Be sure to reply to this post if you are attending BlogWorld!

Waiting on WidgetBucks Stats

If you’ve added the new WidgetBucks widget to your web site, I’m sure you’re anxiously waiting for the first sets of stats to come in. Basically, what we are waiting on, will pretty much "make" or "break" this company. After Jim contacted a bunch of blogs, the WidgetBucks nearly got as much promotion as BlogRush. It would be a shame to see such promotion go to waste if bad initial stats come out. I guess we will have to wait a little longer and see.

I setup two skyscraper widgets on one of my network sites and have served over almost 200,000 impressions and brought in almost 300 clicks so far. The banners are targeted to show products based on "Movies"… so we’ll see how these initial clicks earn up on the first report.

Why are the stats delayed so much? I don’t know, but I really wouldn’t have went live with the program until this was fixed and accurate. This is almost reminding me on the demise of AuctionAds before this program even gets started! Anyone else out there pushing WidgetBucks and getting any decent click through rates, or have any comments on the new program?

—————————
EARNINGS UPDATE

Just a couple hours after making this post, WidgetBucks responds and posts stats! Unfortunately the earnings I’m seeing are less than stellar. This just may be because of my traffic, as I’m sure other sites with shopping or tech themes would perform a lot better. I’ve already heard from some other blogs that they are pulling some decent CPM numbers. My test breakdown numbers looks something like this:
200,000 Impressions, 304 clicks and $6.94 Commissions… average of 0.022 per click.

I’m not that surprised, nor upset. These are initial stats and this just means I need to do more testing. Setting the category of ads shown to "Movies" will likely pull in the most clicks, but are probably low earning clicks. I will not start tracking and monetizing the program by running a few other categories and see how they perform. I will keep running the program at least until I hit my minimum payment requirements. AuctionAds wasn’t that great the first month I ran them, but the next month after, I was able to rack up $1700+ in commissions.
