Unfortunately a lot of the sessions were pretty basic and boring… which is why I attended only one on the second day. I will probably make a follow up post on this and what Affiliate Summit should do to fix these problems.

The session Anatomy of a Great Affiliate Program was disappointing. Of all the people on the panel NONE had ever even been an affiliate manager and it really showed. They couldn't provide solid tips/advice. The one guy, acted like he didn't know why he was up there. When the title of the session is Anatomy of a Great Affiliate, you'd think there would be at least one affiliate manager that is running a great affiliate program so they could tell us about it's anatomy.

I remember the subject of joining multiple networks came up and all they said was, "Ya, do it!, Why not?" They never discussed the downfall of duplicate tracking. Why? Because they knew nothing about it, cause none of them had ever been an affiliate manager.
