Gambling at the Hilton Casino

Late last night Reena and I decided to run down to Atlantic City for a bit. We didn’t have any specific casino in mind this time, so I mentioned we should hit up the Hilton Casino, since I just received a letter from the Senior Casino Host there. I never went to the Hilton before, but I saw it was at the end of the boardwalk casinos, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We pulled up to the Hilton and it actually looked pretty nice, not to mention they had surface parking, so I would never have to worry about fitting in the garage.

Once inside we enjoyed the scenery and the casino floor. Even though it was already 1am once we arrived, I noticed this casino seemed a bit slow and calm (which was a good thing). They had two craps tables open, so that was where we started. I cashed in for $500 worth of chips… and that didn’t last more than 10-15 mins. Once those chips were out, I cashed in for another $1100. This time around was a lot better and last for about an hour. We left the craps table up $200 in total.

Another cool thing I liked about the Hilton was they had some slot machines that I hadn’t seen before. They had a roulette slot machine and I tried it out for a bit and pocketed a quick $75. Then after that we hit up some poker and blackjack games, both on machines. I lost$20 on poker and Reena made an extra$50 on the blackjack game. After this we decided to leave while we were still ahead.

In the end, the Hilton Casino in Atlantic City was pretty decent, and I’m glad the senior casino host took the time to contact me. Maybe on my next visit there I will get to meet up with her. I have no idea how the rooms are in the place, but if they have any of the incentives offered by the Resorts, then I’m sure we will be back there soon enough!

Who Is Reading Your Blog?

A lot of us bloggers are writing and spending a lot of time on our blogs, so much that it has become a passion more than a hobby or part/full time job. We talk about our lives, marketing strategies and share stories of how to make money online… something others would charge endless amounts for, and that people are paying! In the end though, we all keep writing, but are really only in touch with a few of our readers. How many RSS subscribers do you have, but your daily traffic is so much higher? How many RSS subscribers do you have, but your comment postings are so much lower? I love to write about how to make money online, my experiences with online marketing over the past 10 years and I also like to throw in some lifestyle posts about becoming Spiderman or my recent trip to Atlantic City. So, in the end… who’s really reading your blog?

I was checking out my latest postal mail the other day and saw an envelope from Hilton Casino Resort. My first response to Reena was, "Yes!  Another promotion or invite to pick up something sweet on our next visit!". I handed the envelope to Reena and I went through the rest of the pile real quick. Reena started to read me the letter and it said the following:

Dear Zac,

I saw your post from September 15th regarding "Gambling at Caesars". I’m sorry that you lost your host at Resorts, I know it’s hard when you no longer have a contact that you’re comfortable with. If you ever want to visit the AC Hilton, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to assist you in anyway I can.  I wish you luck at whichever casino you decide to call home! P.S. We have surface parking lots.

This was certainly a surprise! Not only did this Casino Senior Host go out of their way to contact me, but the letter was completely hand written. I’m flattered enough that they managed to find and come across my blog, then went to further look up my information to send the letter. (I did a little research and found that I’m #1 on Google for "Gambling at Caesars", so this may have been how they came across my blog)

As much as I ran about the bad parking garage and the poor rooms at Resorts, their staff and player loyalty always seems to outweigh everything else. I was just at Resorts again this weekend and picked up my free four piece luggage set! I didn’t stay over, but we did play in the casino for a couple hours and got something to eat. We had a great time.

The point of this post is that you really never know who is reading your blog! I had no idea that Hilton or any casino staff would ever come across my site, nor did I ever plan for that to happen. Either way, I still would have written about my game play and experiences at the casinos, as it’s part of my lifestyle posts and what I do. Some readers hate lifestyle posts, but I think it makes blogging only better. Don’t you want to know more about the people you are reading on besides just seeing their check stubs?

Keep on blogging and pouring out your hearts… you never know who may be reading!

Gambling at Caesars Casino

Yesterday Reena and I were off to another fun filled adventure to Atlantic City. Before leaving, we headed back to my old house to pick up my mustang since the Hummer is a killer on gas and it won’t fit in the Resorts parking lot! After backing out of the drive way, I noticed the back tire was nearly flat and the front tire wasn’t looking too healthy either, so we decided to take the Hummer. It’s so much more fun to drive in anyway! :)

On the way down, I called my casino host at Resorts and asked if there were any other parking garages at the Resorts casino since the Hummer would not fit in their regular garage. To my surprise, my casino host told me the Resorts had just fired him! This guy was one of the best and the main reason why I went to the results, he always took care of me, comp’d my dinners and always called for new promotions going on. Even though he was recently fired, he told me to talk to vale and to let me park in the executive parking lot. I then told my host to call me as soon as he knew what casino he would be working at next. Since Resorts just fired a good friend of mine, we decided to go to Ceasars instead… not to mention the Hummer would fit in their garage fine.

Once arriving we played craps for a bit, ended up about $300… then walked over to Wild Wild West at Ballys and played a few slots. We then went back to Caesars to play some blackjack and it was horrible! Reena and I kept getting 19s and 20s, and the dealing kept matching or pulling one card higher. This happened for about 6 hands in a row, then we hit craps again for a couple throws… at this point we were now down $1200! Blackjack really killed us.

Quite disappointed with the recent gameplay, we went to the comp machine and grabbed a ticket to get dinner at the buffet. It really wasn’t that great of food, but we got to relax and get away from the games a bit. After dinner we headed downstairs again and I went to another craps table and started with a new $1200 in chips. This time I would play the dark side and play the DON’T, hoping everyone sevens out and won’t hit their point. Basically everyone did that and no one hit their point for six turns…. then it was my turn to throw. I switched over to the PASS LINE and ended up throwing for about a half an hour and hit four points. After I finally sevened out, we played a bit more and eventually left the table up $1350… which put us ahead for the night!

At the end of the day it was a pretty good trip. It’s quite unfortunate that results had to fire my awesome casino host, I’m hoping he gets a job at a casino where I might actually stay the night! Resorts is offering me free leather jackets, free luggage and a free toaster oven over the next two weeks, so I might head down and pick them up. Otherwise, I probably won’t head back to Resorts unless they are offering an incentive… I could pretty much write a whole new blog just based off what’s happen with Resorts.

Gamblers in the Night

It was now midnight and after a game of monopoly (which further forecast the night and throwing of dice) and having watched a less than stellar attempt at a Britney Spears comeback at the MTV Video Awards, Reena and I found ourselves slightly bored again. We started joking about going down to Atlantic City, it was funny because we were just there the night before. Not too funny though, because Reena and I live in the moment and do whatever. Soon enough I called Resorts for a room, then we got ready, jumped into the car and drove down to Resorts again. We left at midnight, arrived at 1am, played for an hour at the Craps tables (won a nice $800 off some sweet horn bets!), then grabbed something to eat with our comps.

After some quick gambling and grabbing something to eat, we headed up to the room. Before driving down, I requested a room in their new tower, since last time we were in such a horrible room and the beds were so hard and square. At the Ultra Members only cocktail party the day before, we talked to a couple that said the towers in the new hotel were great. So once arriving I told the lady to set us up in a room in the new tower, and she said that was fine. While looking for the new tower, we noticed it was the same path we took the first time we stayed over. We went up to the room and it was the same type! Same crappy bed and this one smelled like a pet store. Unhappy again, I called down to the main desk to see if they had any suites to upgrade to, they said none. I then called housekeeping and asked for four new pillows and a blanket. About a half an hour after calling, no one ever showed up, so we just decided to leave again. Once again, we drove all the way down to Resorts and got a room, but left without staying in it for more than an hour. Unless I am ever offered a suite, it looks like Resorts is simply a hit and run casino, no stay overs. The good thing is we made a quick profit and got a free dinner, bad part was the driving back and fourth longer was actually longer than the amount of time we stayed there! Go for the game play, gifts and comps… not the rooms!

Resorts Casino Promotions

Last night Reena, her sister and fiancĂ© and myself went to the Resorts Casino. I was invited for a special ULTRA Members only cocktail party, where they were giving away $50,000 or a new Mercedes SLK and many other cash prizes. Unfortunately my name wasn’t one of the 48 names pulled from the 250+ entries in the contest. We also went down that night because Resorts had sent me two complimentary tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld. Reena’s sister and her fiancĂ© really love Jerry, so I gave them the two tickets and Reena and I went to play some table games instead. That night we also went to a nice dinner at theCapriccio, a really nice Italian restaurant. I called my casino host the day before and asked him to set us up with reservations for dinner, he also comp’d the $250 dinner. He’s been really good with hooking me up and gives me a call whenever something cool is going on. In the end, it was a great night and Resorts is quickly making it’s way up my list as one of the better casinos to visit and play at.

After our last horrible trip to the casino, I have since been sent some really great promotions. A couple weeks ago I went down and picked up a free iPod Nano and stero docking station, just for showing up! Then last night I talked with a couple at the cocktail party and they said they have been going to Resorts for years now and have four flat screen tvs, Gucci hand bags and tons of other freebies… all for just playing at Resorts and attending these cocktail party giveaways. I have played so much longer and wagered so much more at the Borgata over the past several years and they haven’t sent me anything besides free rooms. It’s now time for a change, especially since I don’t need the rooms anymore, when I have a new home to come back to. If you haven’t already, give Resorts in Atlantic City a shot… you might get some nice freebies!
