January 2008 Blog Revenue Report

Last month was the first time I opened up this blog as a new revenue source. The purpose behind this blog, is to share all of my personal experiences over the past 10 years, along with everything that’s going on today. I’ve never been a fan of ebooks and their outrageous $97-$297 price tags, so I always said to myself I wouldn’t write one. Instead, I’d perform a case study and provide all of my knowledge for free and help other accomplish their dreams of walking away from their 9-5 job and start making real money online.

Still less than a year old, the blog is doing phenomenally well and hitting new rss subscriber highs almost daily. As mentioned, last month was the first time this blog was a revenue source, and from doing so, it’s revenue was $1,487.64, with a $1261.81 profit. Let’s take a look at how the blog’s revenue performed during January 2008.

JANUARY 2008 BLOG REVENUE REPORT:

- Affiliate Sales/Referrals: $1681.10
- Private Ad Sales: $1125.00
- ScratchBack Top Spots: $236.54
Total Revenue: $3042.64

During January I had no ad costs, and the server costs are minimal since the blog is hosted on my own rack over servers.
Total Costs: $0.00

Total Blog Income for January 2008: $3042.64

Even more than the revenue, I just love running the blog and being able to be one of the top resource sites for information on making money with new affiliate programs and just to offer some tips on ppc marketing or whatever. This month I may try a little ppc marketing with the blog to bring in some new readers, I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you for continue to read and I look forward to growing with you!

Incredible, Zac. You are making the wise decision of giving out your knowledge free. You are not only gaining more profit than you would from an ebook, but are providing new information and experiences as they happen. I hope February proves even more profitable for you.

Although this is my first comment on this blog, I’ve taken a little time before posting it to lurk through your posts. I must say that most of your articles contain a huge luggage of information.
    Keep it up Zac.

    Best Regards,

“Last month was the first time I opened up this blog as a new revenue source. ” - what do you mean by that? You didnt promote affiliates or private ad sales prior to last month?

Nice work, Zac. I’ve not ever posted income reports at my blog, only because most of the money I make online isn’t from my blog. I do sprinkle in some affiliate links on my site that generate an income, but it isn’t such a large amount that I’ve felt compelled to report it… yet. It is exciting, though, because I know that there are a lot of people who make absolutely zero from all the time they put in blogging and such, so it feels good to really operate in the black. Thanks for sharing today.

It’s not easy to make money in “blogging”, so anything you make from it, you should be proud. It will be interesting to see if any new programs or ideas hit during 2008 to heavily increase the revenue from bloggers vs. actual site owners.

That are nice numbers. Especially because you don’t spend any money. But this earnings are nothing compared with your big earnings (800 thousands of dollars). You are a lucky man to make that money when you are sleeping (maybe right now).
