7/7/07 Lucky Day of the Century

Last night Reena and I decided to go down to the Borgata at Atlantic City for a bit. We left around 11pm, so we got there a little after midnight… and it was now 7/7/07! (i’m not superstitious, just being funny) Today’s date is featured all over the news today and lots of people are getting married and doing crazy stuff.

So once we arrived at the Borgata I went to play craps for a bit and Reena tried her luck on some slots. About 20 mins later Reena came back to craps and said the slots were crappy…  I was having the same luck at Craps. I started out with $3300 at the table… then left it with $1000 about an hour and a half later. Frustrated we stopped for a bit and decided what we should do. It was a Friday night, so it was already massively busy. We wanted to play roulette, since that’s where I usually win big or go for broke. All the tables were full so I went to check the high rollers section. There was one guy at the table and it was a $100 minimum. I still had $1000 in chips, so I traded them in for $25 chips… played two spins and didn’t win… :(

Reena then said "what do you want to do?"…. I threw an extra $2700 on the table to get more chips and see what we could do. First spin… crap, some number I wasn’t on. Second spin… he’s about to drop the ball to spin…"quick load up red 32!" (it’s my number I always play and stack up)… the ball is landing… BAM! 32 RED HITS! I had $100 straight up on 32 and $200 all around it… payoff was $7000! At this point I was up $1500, so I played the additional $500 for one more spin. (hoping for 32 again) Nothing hit so then I cashed in all the chips for large ones. The croupier passed them to me and I said thanks… the he says "No…Thank You!"
(sarcastically and with an attitude)

I’m not surprised… another dealer/croupier with an attitude. This seems to happen too often now. This guy spun the ball 4 TIMES and did some math for my payout and expects me to tip him. So what happens the other 99% of the time when he spins and doesn’t hit my number… I don’t get a tip. I tip dealers, but when I find it necessary or provided with nice service… not just because the ball randomly lands on my number within 5-10 mins at the table. Not to mention I was nearly even at that point. This also happened a lot at the Bellagio in Las Vegas during Affiliate Summit West. I had talked to my casino host there about it and was able to get the whole stay in the casino comped. In AC the dealers at the Borgata are making around $27-$30 an hour (after tip rate)… they just don’t have to be jerks about it.

Anyway, after leaving the craps table we cashed in then hit "Wheel of Fortune" before getting something to eat. I had $25 in comp slot dollars, so we used that… ended up hitting some bonus spins and winning $250. Cashed out, then went to go eat our free / comp’d dinner at the Metropolitan. Looks like 7/7/07 was lucky after all… (and my business cards just arrived too!) :)

Thanks for Missing My Package DHL!

I’ve spent the day getting ready to leave for Affiliate Summit in Florida… but I’m still waiting for my awesomely wicked new business cards I ordered from VistaPrint earlier this week. I made sure to pay the extra $36.84 for shipping so they would arrive in time. At the end of placing my order it said my package would arrive 7/6/07 at the latest. I had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new cards so I can finish up my packing and not have to worry about not having them. I kept checking the tracking number on the DHL web site and it’s been listed as "7/6/2007 7:41 am Depart Facility Niles Regional Hub, MI" for the most of the day now. Quite concerned, I decided to give them a call.

Once talking to a representative, the girl says the package was misplaced and left at the DHL Depart Facility in Michigan! She also apologized, but what good does that do for me? When asked about a refund she said that they bill VistaPrint directly and I have to talk with them. (Which I definitely will.) This is quite ridiculous as this was an important package… and the only purpose for DHL in life is to DELIVER PACKAGES! I was told I will have my business cards tomorrow by noon. Lastly I asked what’s the guarantee on that… I was told there was none…

I’m not happy about this. What if my flight left today or tomorrow?…. the business cards are just as important as anything else, if not more important! VistaPrint and DHL management will hear from me on this… as well as my readers. This is powerful blogging at it’s finest!

8 Facts About Zac Johnson

I usually don’t participate in train posts, but this one seemed nice and informational. Michael Kwan was nice enough to tag me in his "8 Facts About Michael Kwan" post. So here I go!

This is How It Works:

* Each player must post these rules first.
* Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

8 Things You Might Not Have Known About Zac
(You can see pictures for most of these on my pics page)

Ah.. to be young again!
1.) I Love to Play Basketball
Several times a week I go play basketball at my local LA Fitness for around 3-5 hours a day. The joke there is that I play basketball for a living… since I’m there so much. Isn’t making money online wonderful!

Certified Dealer/Croupier in Almost Every Casino Game
2.) Gambling / Casino Certified
In addition to basketball, I also love gambling. So much that I am also a certified dealer in Poker Table Games, BlackJack, Roulette and Craps. There is a casino school in my area and I took all of these classes for fun and to better learn the games. Now I am certified , and could work in any casino! I also have a full size craps table, roulette table and blackjack table in my basement!

3.) Spiderman
When I was younger I started collecting comics and Marvel trading cards. As I got older, it seems nothing changed. I now have a massively huge super hero statue collection and occasionally dress up as Spiderman for fun! (I’m Spiderman & Spiderman
Returns
)

4.) Malamutes
I’ve always wanted a dog through my childhood, but my mother is allergic to pets. Around five years ago my parents went to an animal store and saw an alaskan malamute. To make a long story short, she wasn’t allergic to the malamutes and we ended up having three. Timber, Wolf and Sandy. Unfortunately Sandy passed away less than a year ago. She will be missed :(

My Awesome 2007 Hummer... Best Vehicle Ever!
5.) Hummer
I’ve never had a huge fascination with cars and thought that they were a huge deal. My first car was a used Ford Explorer, then I had a brand new Ford Mustang off the show room floor. Then I recently (last October) took the plunge and made the move for the monster car of my dreams! I finally got my 2007 H2 Hummer! I love, it’s awesome and that’s that.

Old Pics of MoneyReign Inc. Headquarters
6.) Collectibles
I’ve been a big collector for a long time now. In the beginning it was Marvel comics and cards, baseball/basketball cards, old action figures, sports collectibles and over the past few years it’s been more focused on Marvel and Lord of the Rings statues. I can’t even pull a number for how many comics I have (at least a few thousand), let alone basketball cards (in the 100,000+ range)!

California Pizza Kitchen in Las Vegas
7.) Family & Girlfriend
My mom and dad are awesome. My father will be attending Affiliate Summit again with me in Florida. My mom runs a few not-for-profit sites online. My cool sister just graduated high school and is a singer. My wonderful girlfriend also just graduated, from Rutgers university and wants to work with children in the psychology area. I’m very proud and lucky to have them all in my life.

8.) Blogging & Internet Marketing
I’ve been making money online now for over 10 years. What started out as making banners for a $1 each, to an amazingly fun full time income. (job if you must call it). I just started blogging for the first time a few months ago. Already the blog has grown rapidly fast and should just continually keep getting better.
This blog and my story was also featured in Revenue Magazine, which is pretty cool! Refer to my about me page for more info on myself and how I got started online.

As requested, I am passing this post tag onto a few blogs/bloggers. It may be hard for some of them to post/reply as Affiliate Summit starts this weekend, but we’ll see what happens. I only did six referrals, but if you would like to blog your own 8 things about you in response to this blog post, please feel free! Let’s learn a little more about…

John Chow Contest Winner

I was over my girlfriend’s house and decided to check my email on my treo cell phone. I saw that John Chow had sent me an email. We occasional send emails back and forth, so I was eager to see what he had to say this time. I opened the email to find I was selected as the winner for the "Battlefield 2" giveaway! From his original contest posting, it looks like there was around 200+ entries, so this is a pretty sweet win here! I’m really looking forward to trying the game out, and it may even pull me away from Warcraft Battle.net and World of Warcraft for a bit! EA makes some really great games, so I expect it will be awesome! Thanks again to John Chow for running the contest! I’m looking forward to the new flow of traffic I’ll be sent, just from his winner notification post! ( Hello new readers! :) )

Quick Tip on Improving Your Earnings

The other day I wrote about how AuctionAds had a killer month for me during June. In addition to a new high with AuctionAds, NeverBlueAds was also a big earner for me. Its still only been a couple months since I started using them again, but I am glad I have. For the most part, overall traffic has been consistent and I’ve been running the same offers. Why I have I seen the increase in AuctionAds and NeverBlueAds? Monetization of course! You would be surprised how much of a difference some simple wording or placement changes can make. If you are flat lining on your numbers and usually making the same amount per month, try something different. Sometimes you just don’t feel like working or on ad copy or site changes… as it can be very tedious and boring. Trust me, I know how much fun it can be to be lazy and enjoy what you are continually earning, but some tweaking might earn you an extra 10-30% per month!

Here a quick tip on how you might be able to increase your overall earnings:

BANNERS vs. TEXT:
Think about it… how many times do you actually click on a banner? You see the banner (especially those annoying game ones), but most of the time you don’t actually click them. Not to mention, when someone sees a banner, they almost automatically associate it to being an "advertisement" and not interested. Try removing your banners and throw some content links in there! Text links are great for promoting offers and while you’re at it, spice it up with multiple text colors. Setup some SUB-IDs and see what colors are pulling the best clicks. BLUE usually pulls the most clicks, as that’s the universal color known as being a link. :)

Try it out… see how much you might be missing out.
