Where Does Your Affiliate Salary Rank Among Big Stars?

More of a motivational post than anything else… but where do you and your affiliate earnings rank among some of Hollywood’s elite? For those of us fortunate enough to be able to make a living online, we have a lot more in common with celebrities than you might think. Like celebrities, we are our own company… without the celebrity, there is nothing to their name, likewise, without yourself to run your business… there is no business.
Here are just a few of the top earners last year in Entertainment.
Miley Cyrus, 15, Singer/Actress, Los Angeles $18.2 million
Katherine Heigl, Actress, Los Angeles, $11 million
Jessica Alba, Actress, Los Angeles, $9 million
Dr. Phil McGraw, 57, TV host, Los Angeles, $90 million
Steven Spielberg, 61, Movie director, Los Angeles, $110 million
Ryan Seacrest, 33, TV/radio host, Los Angeles, $12 million
Mariska Hargitay, 44, Actress, Los Angeles, $7 million
Trouble, 8, Leona Helmsley’s dog, Sarasota, $12 million
Tiger Woods, 32, golfer, Orlando, $115 million
Jeff Foxworthy, 49, Comedian, Atlanta, $10 million
Oprah Winfrey, 54, TV personality, Chicago, $260 million
Mary-Kate Olsen, 21, Actress/entrepreneur, New York, $17 million
Gisele Bundchen, 27, Model, New York, $33 million
Scarlett Johansson, 23, Actress, New York, $5 million
Eli Manning, 27, NY Giants quarterback, New York, $11.5 million
50 Cent, 32, Rapper, New York, $33 million
Carrie Underwood, 25, Singer, Nashville, $7 million
While some of the names on the list like Oprah Winfrey and Tiger Woods, earn over $100 million a year… there are many names on the list earning under $10 million a year. I’m sure $10 million dollars is more than plenty for most of us, but numbers like that (and above) are being earned by some of the “elite super affiliates” in the world! Try not to take this post too seriously, and take it more as a just a little kick in the butt to get yourself motivated again and to earn those big bucks!

haha thanks Zac, I have been slacking off lately so this helps :-). I discovered it is much harder to work when you are making money then when you are not as the primary motivational factor of earning is gone. Time to find a new motivator.

So Zac, what are these “Elite Super Affiliates” doing to create such large incomes? I’m assuming they have figured out a way to drive massive amounts of traffic. My question is: how are they doing it?

that’s crazy how many these people earn. I think in this business it is much to easy to be that rich, but somehow it would be cool to be so rich, that’s the way you could have everything, but I’m happy with my life. Money couldn’t be everything.

I agree with Neil there. It harder to work and expand your campaigns when your already making good ROI from your existing ones. You just want to maybe relax for another week. Time to get to work again.

I actually saw last night that Miley Cyrus made $25 million last year. I’m nowhere near that and even Conan O’Brien was jealous last night.
Nowhere near that is probably selling the situation pretty short too i’d say!
I guess Carrie Underwood little Idol win there managed to pay off in a big way. Pretty sweet paydays for these guys and gals.

I looked at the list in the link and I find it sad that the teachers that are teaching the rich are some of the lowest paid salaries. My sister graduated from Stetson University last year to be a teacher and she has $40,000 in student loan debt, and that is with a scholarship that paid for half of her expenses!
I rank somehwere between Dr. Phil and Ryan Seacrest. Haha, great article… kind of rediculous how much these people are making!
Hey Zach can you just name some of the elite super affiliates that earn more then 10 Million per year? Sounds really interesting and motivational too to know more about them.
It would make me feel better if you post famous people who actually lost money doing their thing.
I think you can take great comfort from the fact even the most successful people did start somewhere, each of them made mistakes that cost them, in that sense they are no different from all of us; the only difference is that they did not allow the setbacks to discourage them and went on to become what they did!

Look at Oprah Winfrey, $260 million… that is mind-blowing. But she deserves it, her abilities to influence is fabulous. An endorsement from her is every marketer’s dream.
By the way, will appreciate a more modest list next time as we are nowhere near that kind of earning power.

Lol, if you think these people are making big money, look at the incomes of some of the highest paid hedge fund managers. Some of them make over $1 BILLION per year NET income. Google it for more accurate statistics.
I haven’t even heard of half these people.
