Dude, neither one of those guys has ever even spoken about aff marketing (chow made his dough off TTZ and Shoe off adsense) - so why were they chosen, just due to their 'guru' status in the blog world?

Strange choice of people.

Zac, why not start your own aff show?

Way to stay positive. I couldn't actually watch it for the low quality and lack of scripting (needed better goals/games).

I applaud their effort.

I just watched the final installment and the predictable became predictable.

I think they realize they need a boost in quality. I am not sure if they realize that their format "sucked".

If you are going to do a true affiliate challenge, or any challenge, then it has to be fair for all contestants.

So, how would I do that? (yeh I know who cares what I think)

First, I would get rid of the team concept.

Second, I would have Gurus teach the contestants techniques, like PPC. Give some glimpses to the viewers and save the video for sale later. If you have say, 1 or 2 gurus there for the whole show then you could invite 6 to do specific days. You would have quite the JV product to sell with those gurus. I would even invite Jim Kukral to do a day on video. Even have some people drop in via teleconferencing for quickies.

Third, say starting day 2 every contestant has the same exact budget and they must promote the same affiliate products. The thing to remember is that it is relative, so a budget of $100 is fine. I would have to imagine sponsors would have no problem financing those kind of budgets. And there has to be strict rules that you cannot use favors, or existing resources like lists. Each day would be a specific challenge, for example Google Adwords would be used one day and something else the next.

Forth, to make it interesting have immunity contests that are not about affiliate marketing. You can do some crazy things and it allows the viewers to get to know the contestants.

and finally, do not invite Big Jason. I am fairly certain I would kick him in the knees and run.

Personally, I've only heard bad things about the Top Affiliate Challenge. I think you made the right decision in not joining in on this.

That's hilarious! I have ignored the show from the beginning, but now I wish I had seen just how bad it was with my own eyes!
