3 Niche Blog Case Studies You Should Be Following
When running a blog it’s very important to always put your audience and content first.
It’s not just about “creating content“… it’s about “creating quality content“!
One of the best ways to do this is through the use of tutorials, how to’s and case study related posts.
Some of my most read and commented on blog posts are the ones that I’ve spent the time to teach people how to walk through simple processes, yet they are extremely appreciated by the readers.
Even though some of these are out-dated, they are still getting thousands of new visitors every month.
This is something I’m actually starting to focus my efforts on, while also creating new tutorial videos on my YouTube channel. (please follow!)
There are millions of blogs out there, but easy to get lost in the mix and know which are provided up to date information and content worth reading.
In this post I’m going to show you three different blogs that you should be following right now.
Best of all, each of the sites below are currently running their own “Follow Along” niche site case studies.
This means that the sites are building a site from scratch and allowing you to follow along in the process as they keep you updated on the progress and results in the coming months.
Smart Passive Income
I can’t say enough about Pat Flynn and what he’s got going on Smart Passive Income. While you may find a lot of value in his blog, he’s done over 50 podcasts and has one of the highest rated and listened to shows on iTunes. I highly recommend you check it out.
As for Pat’s niche case study, a while back he created a security guard training site and is now raking in over $4,000 a month from being the #1 ranked site for the term “security guard training”. You can read his niche site duel case study posts on his site and see how he went through the whole process.
Niche Pursuits
Next on the list we have Niche Pursuits, which is run by Spencer Haws. As you can tell from the title of the site, Spencer is all about building niche sites and he is actually in the process of starting a new one up right now, which he is going to document through his blog.
I have to thank Spencer because he is the creator of Long Tail Pro, which is one of my favorite pieces of keyword software. Compared to all of the keyword and research software out there, LTP is the best in my book and well worth the money. I’m actually using it every day to pull up new ranking reports and search for new niches with low competition and ROI.
Blogging Tips
Last we have Blogging Tips, which I have to say I am a little biased on since it’s my own site. However, I am still running a “create a blog” case study of my own and both Pat Flynn and Spencer Haws were big inspirations in deciding to go live with a blog case study series.
It’s easy to create a site of your own when you’ve been doing it forever, but documenting the whole process for everyone to follow is quite a challenge. In just it’s basic infancy it’s already over 7,000 words, but it’s made for some great content and an exciting new project to work on.
Whether it’s Pat, Spencer or myself you decide to follow, I’m sure you will find great value in all of these case studies. Best of all, they are all completely free to follow and 100% transparent, meaning we are all showing you the exact steps we are taking to find our niche, create our sites, build content and links, then monetizing the blogs over time.

Hi,
I was wondering if it would be possible to get added to the list with my zero backlink SEO case study which you can learn about here https://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/experiments/goog…
It was started in August and so far the blog has earnt over $35,000, getting 6k a month from Google (without link building) and is growing at a tremendous rate.
Every month I publish an update recapping exactly what I've done the previous month in detail to drive the success of the blog so people can follow along learning what to do and what not to do.
Thanks for your consideration Zac
