Once again, the power and exposure of having a blog pays off big time! Last week I was in New York City doing an interview with ABC Studios on how to make money blogging and how to help others get started. The interview went live on ABC NEWS Now and ABC VIDEO yesterday. You can watch the full interview below.

The main points discussed in the interview were how to start a blog, when to start monetizing and how to build an audience then start making real money with a blog. It doesn’t matter if you know anything about making money online or even how to make a web site, a blog can be thrown together within a few minutes and can easily be self taught with all of the resources available online. You wont make money right away by throwing a simple blog up on the web, but it will potentially get you started and on the path for a secondary income source. Taking your blog to the next level is where you will have to put in the major dedication and efforts.

  4. I bet you failed to disclose that you don't make money from blogging, but make money from affiliate sales. Big difference. You and the likes of John Chow pretty much make money off people's hope. It's very predatory and misleading. Blogs are dead anyways. In 5 years people will be laughing at you if you tell them you blog.

    1. Keep telling yourself that. You are completely wrong anyway. The majority of revenue from the blog comes from direct ad sales, and any referred commissions from networks are a result of someone else earning money. Keep on hating… it will get you no where.

      I think you miss the point when you read blogs like Zac's and John's and you fail to take the advice they share and apply it in other niches. In the interview Zac plainly states that you should start a blog on a topic your passionate about.

      I think it's hilarious that you say Blogs are dead though. Where are your stats? Polls? Credible data to back up your claims?

  17. Great stuff Zac, and congrats for getting on ABC News. You hit the main point on the head, something I tell people all the time, that being to make sure they have enough passion to be able to continue writing new content on their blog for years and years, if they're lucky and dedicated.

    Nice video on the blogging tips. I agree that making money from a wordpress blog is not as easy as people think. Writing quality content and promoting the blog to get good traffic requires time and effort.
