Interview with Jeremy Schoemaker (AKA ShoeMoney)
1.) Please tell us a little about yourself.
Sure, I am Jeremy Schoemaker. Husband, father, and small business owner. I started a mobile website called NextPimp.com in 2003 when out of the blue one day I got a call from Google asking me if I would run AdSense. I gave it a shot and was making good money pretty much out of the gate. From there I became a bit infatuated with how to make money online.
2.) When did you start blogging and how did you get into it?
I just wanted a place to put my thoughts and experiences on. I started sharing lots of stuff I was learning about making money on the internet.
3.) Besides financially, how has blogging helped your business and brand?
Blogging really helps you connect with your customers. It shows them you are human just like they are… and many times you can be a dumbass … just like they are.
4.) How have you incorporated affiliate marketing into your blog?
Occasionally I will talk about services or products I use. I will use affiliate links to the companies websites instead of direct linking.
5.) In your opinion, what is the single best way to monetize a blog?
The absolute best way is to create a product. If you have a good RSS readership then obviously you have been giving a lot of value to your readers and they trust you.
6.) What would you recommend for a new blogger, that was only looking to blog for financial gain?
I would probably recommend they don’t start. I have never heard of a successful blogger who started because they wanted to make money from the blog. I have blogged for almost 7 years 1.2 posts a day on average. I wrote every day when nobody read the blog and someday if nobody reads again I will still blog my post per day.
7.) Any recommended blogs or resources for bloggers looking to bring their blog to the next level?
I think problogger.net is the absolute best resource online for bloggers. Whether you want to make money or just blog problogger always has amazing content to help you…. and he publishes it every day.
8.) Do you have any big announcements or upcoming projects you’d like to tell us about?
Well I just launched the ShoeMoney System and that is going to keep me busy 😉 Its a step by step training system for making money on the internet… and with a 100% no questions asked money back guarantee if you think its not for you.

Great to hear! I've been on a few panels with Jeremy and they are always fun.
Good insight into his mindset. Doesn't matter people read or not, he just continues to provide the content and posts regularly. You provide value to any community, you will gain a following and lets face it, that is what you both do excellently.
Regards
Simon
This is a great interview. You and Shoemoney are my blogging idols? haha
The guy is successful, but I'm not a fan. I am wary of any entrepreneur who has to mention weight loss in his bio's. He seems to have a reputation for being a little shady and not providing very helpful products. Even his latest Shoemoney System sounds like it forces you to pay for a month or two of extremely basic training videos before you can access any of the more advanced stuff.
Hi Zac,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful interview. I've been following shoemoney for quite a while now. Jeremy is really a great guy, he knows everything when it comes to blogging.
Hope to hear more from him.
Kind regards,
Gary
I’ve been looking at the ShoeMoney System recently but haven’t quite taken the plunge yet. I’ve heard that some people have made absolutely nothing from it!
Anyways the interview was a good read!
@PS3:
I've heard the same stories – I don't really know what can teach you better than personal experience. Instead of reading – Get out there and do something!
Really enjoyed this interview. He has a lot of good advice, especially about how to make money by selling a product. It seems the best advice is not going into it just for making money, and to take it slow and build a fanbase before investing any big bucks. ShoeMoney keeps it simple, but gets the point across. Love it!
that's sounds good to me as long as i will get the money to pay the bill
