The video ad will appear right away and start playing in video format, but the actual sound of the video won’t start playing until clicked on or hovered over with a mouse cursor. Sound can be enabled to play instantly on page load (which results in a higher CPM), but it will likely irritate the audience in the process. With that being said, there are still many sites that will auto-play volume simply because of the difference in revenue, and also based on audience/content focus.
