PPV Advertising: Network Reviews and Case Studies

In my setting up a PPV Campaign post, I gave a tutorial on how you can increase your profits and volume by running your own PPV (pay per view) ad campaigns. In the tutorial I used Adoori as the PPV network, but there are also many other pay per view sources out there for you to choose from.

However, not all PPV ad networks are created the same way, nor do they have the same traffic. Some networks will have low quality traffic, while other will continually stand out and convert better than others. In the end, you need to make sure you have exposure across several PPV networks so you can split test and see what traffic works best for your ad campaigns.

Below is a listing of well known and used PPV ad networks in the affiliate space, along with some notes on each. Feel free to leave your feedback and experience in the comments section.

Well Known and Recommended PPV Ad Networks

LeadImpact – http://www.leadimpact.com

A favorite among many in the affiliate marketing space, especially on dating and free trial related offers. Over 10 million monthly users, and the ability to target traffic by keywords and urls. $200 minimum to open an account.

TrafficVance – http://www.trafficvance.com

Also a top and preferred source of PPV traffic to many large affiliate marketers, TrafficVance has the ability to offer up massive traffic to it’s advertisers. In addition to regular PPV pop-unders, TrafficVance also offers text link, slidebar and peelback advertising. URL and keyword targeting options are also available. $1,000 minimum to open an advertiser account.

DirectCPV – http://www.directcpv.com

Running off a PPV cpm system that starts at .004 USD per view, DirectCPV has become a large source for PPV traffic. Keyword and URL targeting options available. With a low $100 minimum deposit, DirectCPV has a low entry point for new PPV marketers.

MediaTraffic – http://www.mediatraffic.com

Advertise to over 15 million opt-in users with three different methods of PPV advertising; highly targeted, broad traffic and run of network. While Media Traffic may not have as much traffic as other networks, they do offer a low $200 deposit to start an account.

I wanted to help make this process a lot easier for you, so I have linked to some of the top PPV articles and resources found across the industry.

Continue to tweak ad campaigns and connect with other PPV marketers to improve your results and educate the affiliate marketing industry.

Increase Profits and Volume with PPV Advertising

Every few years, the internet advertising industry switches gears and a new advertising method becomes hot. First it was pay per click advertising, email marketing, social network advertising and recently PPV has been a hot trend and used by many affiliate markers.

What is PPV Advertising & Why Does It Work?

PPV advertising stands for “Pay Per View” and may also be considered pop under advertising on a CPM (cost per impression) basis. However, PPV advertising on a CPM basis is lot different from banner advertising on a CPM basis, because people are actually visiting your web site or landing page.

The difference between banner advertising and PPV, is that someone has to click on a banner ad to visit your web site, while with PPV advertising, your landing page will pop under the browser. The user will then see your landing page when they leave a web site or close out the browser window.

A better questions than “what is PPV advertising“, is “how does it work“? The success behind any ad campaign lies within it’s targeting, landing page and cost basis. Using all three of these factors, you can create a winning ad campaign. When creating a PPV ad campaign, you would select web sites or general target audience that you want your landing page to pop under, kind of like how you select related keywords with search engine advertising. With PPV advertising, you can sort and select related web sites to your landing page based on geographic location, interest/topics, specific urls and by price.

Creating Your First PPV Campaign

In the past, I’ve written posts about walking users through the process of building a PPC campaign and starting a Facebook Ads campaign. These have gone over very well, so I’m going to walk you through the process of how to setup your own PPV campaign using Adoori. They have quite an advanced system and it’s very easy to use.

If you haven’t already, sign up for a free account with Adoori so you can walk through the simple process.

The first steps are quite simple. In this example I’m going to create a campaign like I was going to promote this blog. Create a campaign title, then select the traffic source that you would like to receive traffic from. Depending on the country traffic source you select, minimum prices range from $2 cpm to $4.90. There are also “summer packages” available, which bundle traffic and lower prices.

The last step is to add in the url that you want to promote. Usually this would be a landing page, and not a home page of a web site.

Next is your traffic settings. You can choose from standard traffic, premium or a mixture of both. This area is where you can place how much you are willing to pay per 1,000 views (CPM). The advertisers with the higher CPM will get the most volume.

The premium traffic will cost you more, but it will probably convert better for you at the same time. You can create a separate url for standard and premium traffic and compare your results. The unique traffic from Adoori is based on a frequency cap of 1/24 hours, so you won’t have to worry about daily repeat impressions being wasted.

Click on the “Advanced Settings” area and you can select the type of traffic you would like to target towards. Being that this blog is on marketing, I selected business. If you were going to promote a weight loss and skin related offer, you would want to select “Health” as your target audience. Some PPV sources will allow you to buy advertising on a direct url or keyword/topic basis. On Adoori you select a general audience. Depending on the direct audience of your offer, the results on targeting will vary.

The next step in the advanced settings, is the budget. If you don’t set a budget, you can quickly blow through your balance and a lot of traffic fast. Check off “Daily Budget” and “Traffic Limit”, then enter your desired numbers and you will be given estimates on your daily and hourly impressions based off your CPM cost and daily ad spend.

Lastly, you will be sent to the stats tracking area of Adoori, where you can review your ad campaign and full stats. Click on your Campaign and you can edit any settings or increase/decrease your CPM and daily spend rates.

What Works Best for PPV Advertising

Now that you know how to setup an ad campaign, you can start playing around with a few offers and get an idea of what works. Offers such as dating and free trial/rebill offers do extremely well. Dating converts very well but has a lower payout, while free trial/rebill offers have a very high payout and low conversion. In the end, it’s all about creating a winning landing page that gets people to click.

When it comes to building a PPV landing page, you only have a second or two to grab the attention of the viewer. Landing pages built for PPV purposes should be simple and draw immediate call to action. There are many sites out there that offer “PPV Templates” that you can work with, and you can also perform a Google Images search for “ppv landing pages”, which will show you a ton of results like the ones below.

I will follow up in the coming weeks with a full case study on a PPV campaign that I setup with Adoori and more tips on how to create winning PPV landing pages.

In the mean time, be sure to take a look at Adoori. Use promotional code “sp0811″ and save on premium pop under traffic from English, European, East Asia and Latin America countries.

Starting Your Own Online Casino Web Site

The world of online gambling and poker makes billions of dollars every year. I remember playing around with online casino and affiliate programs back in the early 2000s. It was a fun time, but the competition was extremely tough and online casinos were paying over $50 per click on Google and other search engines.

Since then a lot of things have changed, such as the USA not allowing online gambling (yet it still happens), though a lot of people in congress are trying to get that revoked so the US can start earning money from it, instead of just missing out completely. Search engines have also stopped most online casinos from advertising in their search results.

No matter what the USA or search engines do to deny online gambling and casinos, it just keeps growing and gaining more attention. Now with the advancement of online payments, social media and live web games through your browser, there are still plenty of opportunities for you to make money in the online gambling space.

A Low Cost and Simple Solution for a Co-Branded Online Casino

There are many affiliate programs out there in the online gambling industry, but most of the time you are sending users to a web site or name brand that isn’t your own. If you ever thought about creating your own gambling site, but really wanted it under your own name and site design, but didn’t have the technology or money to fund it, GamblingBuilder.com is a quick and effective solution.

For the low cost of only $10 a year, you can be setup with your own online casino using the Gambling Builder platform and back end. The ten dollars a year sounds like nothing, but it’s mainly to cover the cost of the domain. Gambling Builder makes their money on the back end, when you refer new paying users to your site, which is 60/40 split. As the site owner, your job is to bring in new players (free or paying), and you would earn a 40% commission on your referred players deposits/losses.

There are a few different templates that you can choose from when setting up your online casino. The selection is pretty basic, and it would be a big improvement if they offered some custom design services for better branding of your casino site.

More than the web site design, in the end it’s all about the game play when it comes to players. Some online casinos require you to download software to play their games, but through GamblingBuilder, all of the games are web based for instant and easy play. From Baccarat, Blackjack, Poker and Roulette, to Slots and Video Poker, the majority of table games and slots are covered.

How to Bring in New Players

Looking for ideas on how you can grow out a casino web site of your own? Since you can have people sign up to your casino and play for real, or free money, you have a lot of options. One easy target is to setup a Facebook Ads campaign that targets to the 34,684,596 fans of Texas HoldEm Poker by Zynga Facebook Group. In addition to this Zynga, there are many other groups on Facebook targeted to casino games. You also have the option to target your ads to certain audiences, as it’s probably easier to convert NON-US traffic to real paying players.

The Summary

If you’ve ever thought about starting your own online casino, and had no idea where to start, GamblingBuilder.com is a quick way to get started. Depending on the success you find, you may want to talk directly with GB on how you can custom build your site design and expand your promotion and reach. The bottom line is that GamblingBuilder.com was created to be an easy all in one solution to get started, without the need to invest in the necessary technology and payment processing that online casinos need to offer.

Visual Eye Tracking to Perfect Your Ad Creative

By pre-testing creatives, advertisers will know what their consumers see and equally important, what they do not see. This will help pick the ads that get the most attention, and hence maximize return on marketing investments. Equally, post-testing how well ads performed in the market place enable advertisers to compare media placements, identify which positions get the best click through rates and build a set of best practices to help increase market share in ROI.

Pre-Test – and Save Money

The advantage of using EyeTrackShops patented biometric technology in the pre-testing phase of research is that you will learn precisely what your consumers’ see and just as important, what they do not see. Many of our clients will test 5-10 variations of their creatives and we help them learn which creative is getting the most attention – in terms of percentage of respondents that actually sees it as well as in terms of the amount of time respondents spend on it. Together with revealing key insights such as where consumer look, for how long and in what order, this enables clients to choose the most engaging communication and hence to increase the effectiveness of the advertisement. EyeTrackShop helps clients spend their marketing money more wisely. The actionable insights are delivered fast, in just 48 hours. Delivering final detailed results in 48 hours means companies can now use these insights to be proactive instead of reactive to what worked or did not work. Being proactive turns into huge savings. Companies can make smart decisions on what is seen and what is not seen before using specific communication material (packages, online ads, print ads, shelf sets etc.) Instead of reacting when they find out consumers did not see their key message.

The video below is from CNN and shows how visual eye tracking is used with heat map tracking.

New methods needed when people stop clicking on ads online and as branding advertising grows

A growing issue for marketers today is the changing consumer behavior online: less and less people choose to click on banner ads. Consequently, the value of tracking clicks in order to measure the effectiveness of ads online decrease. At the same time, more and more advertisers acknowledge the branding power of online messaging. Consumers today spend more time online then they do watching TV, and as a result, online is the place to be in order to become top of mind as well as to become salient enough to win on the market. This pushes for new methods for measuring advertisement performance online. Eye tracking through webcams is one such method that provides advertisers with a toolbox of important key performance indicators to track and benchmark.

By post testing how well online ads, websites, packages etc. actually did in the market place, clients can build a set of best practices to ensure they do not get stagnant with their message. Also, different media contexts can be compared in order to pinpoint where the campaign had the best effect. Another great insight is that we can help clients identify which positions get the best click through rates. Remember, eyes don’t lie.

How to Get Guest Bloggers to Flock After Your Blog

Guest blogging is one of the best things that has ever happened to bloggers today, because aside from the fact that you can easily use guest blogging to build your blog it can also be a great way for you to introduce a unique perspective on your blog while at the same time ensuring your blog doesn’t rely on you alone.

Introducing guest bloggers to your blog can be great but the problem is that a lot of bloggers have done all they think they need to do to ensure they get guest authors to contribute to their blogs, but unfortunately, they don’t seem to be attracting any. This article will be giving you a few tips on how to get guest authors to write for your blog.

Market Your Blog

The first step you need to take when trying to ensure you get a lot of people to guest post on your blog is to work on consistently marketing your blog.
There are several reasons people write guest posts on other blogs, but in my own experience they do it mostly for the following reasons:

  • Traffic
  • Links
  • Branding
  • Exposure

If you want your blog to be attracting the right types of guest bloggers on a consistent basis then you need to ensure your blog is able to provide them with any or all of the above.

The reality is that to ensure your guest bloggers enjoy the above you might also have to be writing for other blogs yourself. This means you need to gain as much quality backlinks to your blog as possible, you need to ensure people are able to hear about your blog in as many places as possible and you need to let your guest authors know that they stand to get the above things if they write for you.

Don’t Let Quality Suffer

A lot of bloggers think they can attract guest bloggers to their blogs if they keep on publishing just any content on their blog, and even though this seems to work for them initially the end result is that the quality of their blog suffers, the traffic and exposure guest authors stand to gain reduces and people start to feel less interested in guest posting for their blog.

I get a lot of guest posting requests for my blog, in fact, I get as much as 30 guest post requests in some months but I end up rejecting a large percentage of them. A lot of people will think that people will stop trying to write a guest post for my blog because of this but the result is that I keep on getting more requests.

Guest bloggers will start valuing your blog if they see that not just anybody is able to get published on it. People appreciate exclusivity, and they know that a lot of results comes from this. If you work more on rejecting the bad guest posts and only publishing the best guest posts you will start getting a lot more requests from people wanting to write on your blog. Only that this time, the requests will be from people wanting to contribute quality guest posts.

Give Guest Authors an Opportunity to be Compensated for Their Work

One thing about me is that my entire blogging career is built on guest blogging, and I earn my living by guest blogging for clients in other niches. As a result of this I have been exposed to contacting bloggers in other niches to write a guest post for their blogs and I become really disappointed when they don’t provide guest bloggers the opportunity to use their author bio.

The reality is that when it comes to letting people have a bio in their guest posts some people will try to abuse this, but you can easily moderate that. People won’t just come to write for your blog if they stand to gain nothing since they are doing it for one of the reasons listed above.

Don’t deprive people of the opportunity to tell your readers about themselves after writing a guest post for your blog and you will start getting a lot more people to contribute for your blog.

Invite the Influencers

This technique is one I have seen used effectively by some blogs in the blogging niche.
The reality is that in every niche there are people who are highly respected and looked up to and an endorsement from some of these people can make a difference in your blogging career.

If you struggle to get guest authors to write for your blog then all you need to do is get in touch with 2 or 3 highly respected bloggers in your niche, whom you know will be happy to honor your request, and then contact them to write a guest article for your blog. When your readers and other guest bloggers start to see the caliber of people writing for your blog they will be more inclined to write a guest post for you.

Dedicate a Page to It

While there are some A-list bloggers who don’t need to have a guest post submission page to get guest post requests because they are already very popular it is very important for you to know that not everybody can afford this luxury.

Sometimes the best way to get what you want is by asking. Don’t expect people to visit your blog and expect you to be accepting guest posts. You need to realize that there are thousands of other blogs in your niche fighting for the attention of guest bloggers so make sure you have a page dedicated to inviting guest authors to your blog, explaining what your rules are and what they will gain from writing for you.

Conclusion

If you’ve been the only one writing for your blog for a long time now introducing a few guest posts every once in a while could make a difference in how your readers perceive your blog and your readers will happily benefit from the new perspective.

This guest post was written by Onibalusi Bamidele, a 17 year old blogger and freelance writer who teaches people how to write for traffic and money. He has also written an ultimate guest blogging guide for the benefit of everybody.
